Sangeetha Punniyamoorthy

Sangeetha’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and prosecution. Since her call to the Ontario Bar in 2004, she has acted in patent, trademark and copyright disputes and has appeared as counsel before the Federal Court, the Ontario Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. She is also a registered trademark agent, and practices both trademark and patent prosecution with an emphasis in the biotech and pharmaceutical fields where her educational background in molecular biology is an asset.
Sangeetha presently serves on the Editorial Boards of the Intellectual Property Journal published by Federated Press and the Canadian Intellectual Property Review. She is also an active member of the International Trademarks Association, the American Bar Association, the Toronto Intellectual Property Group, and the Canadian Bar Association. She is also an Associate member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada. Sangeetha has also presented and contributed several articles on intellectual property issues to various publications and continuing legal education seminars.
Sangeetha received her LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2003. She has a background in molecular biology and physiology, and graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Sc. degree in 2000.
