Michal J. Niemkiewicz

Michal was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003 and the New York State Bar in 2008.  Michal’s practice includes patent litigation, opinion work, and prosecution. 
 
Michal focuses on the areas of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, where he has enjoyed applying his technical background. He has represented and advised clients in connection with proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations involving patents relating to crystal forms, formulations, salts, uses and chemical entities. Michal has also represented and advised clients regarding various biotechnologies, including vaccines, modified crops, protein products, and diagnostic devices. His practice also includes other technologies, such as oil and gas, and consumer products.
 
Michal earned his J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2002. He has a M.Sc. in Biochemistry from McMaster University and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Guelph.  Michal is a member of several professional organizations including the American Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. He is also an Associate member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
