Ron Dimock
Ron Dimock is a partner of Dimock Stratton LLP and has been practising intellectual property law and litigation since his call to the Ontario Bar in 1976. He is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Civil Litigation and Intellectual Property (Patent, Trade-mark and Copyright) Law and is listed in the LEXPERT Law Directory under the "Most Frequently Recommended" category of leading intellectual property practitioners in Canada. Ron was recently named as the leading patent lawyer in Canada in Euromoney Legal Media Group's MIP Guide to the World's Leading Patent Law Experts.
Ron has appeared as counsel in more than 40 patent, trade-mark and copyright trials in the Federal Court and on more than 30 appeals in the Supreme Court of Canada, Federal Court of Appeal and Ontario Court of Appeal.
Ron teaches a graduate level course on Remedies in Intellectual Property to LL.M. students at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University. He taught Patents to law students at Queen's University Law School and Copyright to students enrolled in the Advanced Course on Copyright sponsored by McGill University and IPIC. He is also on the International Trade-mark Association's Panel of Neutrals for Canada and a Mediator on file with IPIC. He is the Editor of the book entitled "Intellectual Property Disputes - Resolutions and Remedies", up-dated semi-annually by Carswell-Thomson Publishing. Ron is the Editor-in-Chief of the Federated press - Intellectual Property Journal and on the Editorial Board of the CCH Canadian Commercial Law Guide.
Ron earned his LL.B. in 1974 from Queen's University where he also obtained a B.Sc. in mathematics and engineering (with honours) in 1971. He was Big Brother of the Year for Toronto in 1979.
