New appointments to Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal

The Minister of Justice recently announced the appointment of Justice Eleanor Dawson, previously a judge of the Federal Court, to the Federal Court of Appeal effective 28 December 2009. She will replace Justice Ryer, who retires on that date.
The Minister also announced the appointment of Justice Paul Crampton as a judge of the Federal Court, effective 27 November 2009. His main practice areas prior to his appointment were in competition and foreign investment law, including international and domestic mergers and acquisitions.
